John J. Buro is the author of Bite of the Shark: A Baseball Novel [2002] and Deliver Us from Evil [2006]; his first screenplay, Best Seats in the House, was penned in 2004.
Between 2005-08, he covered the Knicks while writing for New York Sportscene, and was the team’s only beat reporter inside the courtroom during Anucha Browne Sanders’ much-publicized sexual harassment lawsuit against Madison Square Garden and Isiah Thomas.
As the editor and publisher of the now-defunct ProfilesInSport.com, Buro had exclusive interviews with Christopher Reeve, the beloved actor who would pass on just months later, and Rachel Robinson, the widow of baseball legend Jackie Robinson, among a host of celebrity athletes.
He is a past recipient of the George Goldstone Medal of Journalism, and now resides in Brooklyn.
